Covid19 Control Measures

The PTS team are dedicated to taking all necessary measures to keep our staff and students safe.

For any training that is taking place at PTS, we have introduced the following precautionary and preventative measures:

Quarantine of training areas
For any training delivered at PTS, appropriate sections of the PTS building (including the training yard) will be quarantined for the staff and students in attendance.

Rules have also been put in place regarding the use of toilet and kitchen facilities. Students will receive relevant instructions from PTS staff at the time of their training.

Self-Declaration
We ask that all trainees follow Department of Health guidance and only attend their PTS training session if considered fit to do so. Signage has been placed at the front door of PTS with information related to COVID19 control screening. Anyone who is considered to be a risk will not be permitted to enter PTS facilities or to complete onsite training.

Reinforcing basic hygiene
We require that all staff and students at PTS follow the Department of Health guidance regarding personal hygiene behaviours such as handwashing and the frequent use of hand sanitisers, the daily cleaning of workstations, protective coughing/sneezing techniques and disposing of tissues hygienically. Hand sanitiser and soap is available throughout the PTS site.

Increased cleaning frequency
Cleaning has been increased and will be conducted regularly after all training sessions, as well as daily and weekly, to ensure the reduction of risk to students and staff.

Self-Isolation
All PTS staff who are returning, or have recently returned from any international travel or interstate travel after 18 March 2020 are required to follow the self-isolation requirements under the Australian Government COVID-19 Guidelines.

Any PTS staff member who has been in direct contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 is not permitted to enter any Western Power site and must monitor their health for 14 days in self-isolation under the Australian Government COVID-19 Guidelines.

General Sickness
Any staff member who exhibits flu-like symptoms is not permitted to enter any Western Power site until they obtain medical clearance that they are fit for work.
