FAQ’s – Operational induction – now online and refreshed
What will be changing?
The Induction for Operational Personal will be offered as online training only. This will replace the existing classroom training offered by PTS.
There will be two courses, one for Non-Western Power Personnel and one for Western Power employees.
When does this take affect?
The last classroom training session will be held on 27th August 2018.
As of the 28th August, students will be able to book onto the online course via the PTS website.
Why the change?
In response to customer requests, the change to online training has been developed.
The outcomes of the course remain the same, plus a new risk assessment module has been added.
Benefits for students
Students can complete the course at a time and place that suits them, with no waiting time.
The course cost will be cheaper, with a saving of approximately 25% per student. There is also no requirement to travel.
How do I book?
To book, just search for the course and click the ENROL NOW button.
Once you submitted your enrolment request, within 1 business day you will receive an email providing you with a link to the online training, plus your log on details.
About the course
What equipment do I need to prepare for the online training?
Students will need:
- a computer with internet access. The student experience is better if the training is completed in Google Chrome, although Internet Explorer can be used.
- headphones
How long will be training take?
Once the booking confirmation is received, students can then complete the online course within 4 weeks.
It is recommended that students set aside up to 3 hours to complete the training.
The training is split into modules, which will each take 30-40 minutes to complete. The modules should be completed in the order listed, however they do not have to be completed at the same time.
What is the pass rate for the course?
The pass rate for the course is 100%.
How will I get my certificate?
You will receive a Certificate of Completion via email within 1 business day of completing the course.

Can I request extra assistance with the online modules?
If you have any issues completing the online training, please contact PTS Support Services. Support will be available from Monday to Friday between 7am – 3pm.
How do I give feedback on the course?
You will be sent a survey via email within 5 working days of the course being completed.
Will the process to apply for a Network Authority Card change?
There is no change to the authorisation process.
